Massage Therapy / Therapeutic Massage

There are many benefits of massage therapy

Massage therapy consists primarily of hands-on manipulation of the soft tissues of the body, specifically, the muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints for the purpose of optimizing health.

Massage therapy treatment has a therapeutic effect on the body and optimizes health and well-being by acting on the muscular, nervous and circulatory systems. Physical function can be developed, maintained and improved; and physical dysfunction and pain and the effects of stress can be relieved or prevented through the use of Massage Therapy.

Deep Tissue Massage

Our Deep Tissue Massage treatments are ideal for those seeking a deeper, firmer treatment to release chronic or recurring muscular tension.

Swedish Massage Therapy
Swedish massage is the most common and best-known type of massage. Swedish massage is the foundation for other types of Western massage including sports massage and deep tissue massage and is based on anatomy and physiology. Swedish massage techniques involve manipulation of soft tissues, muscles, ligaments, tendons, connective tissue and joint capsules.

This massage is ideal for relaxing tense muscles, easing stress and tension, relieving pain and improving sleep.

Most people book a 60-minute Swedish massage, but 75 or 90 minutes gives the therapist more time to work the muscle tissue and achieve results.

Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy massage treatments alleviate backache and reduce leg cramps and swelling that often accompany pregnancy.

Each pregnancy is as unique as each woman. Therefore, each pregnancy massage therapy treatment is tailored to meet the individual needs of the patient. The mom-to-be will be positioned with pillows to ensure maximum comfort during the massage.

All our massage therapists are trained in prenatal massage and can adjust their techniques to meet your specific needs.

Therapeutic Ultrasound

Therapeutic ultrasound is a modality that has been used by health care providers since the 1940s.

Ultrasound is applied using an ultrasound probe and gel placed directly on the skin. The ultrasound waves are generated by the vibration of crystals within the head of the ultrasound wand. The sound waves that pass through the skin cause a vibration in the local tissues. This vibration can cause deep heating locally, although the patient usually does not feel any heat. In situations where a heating effect is not desirable, such as an injury with acute inflammation, the ultrasound can be pulsed rather than continuously transmitted.

Ultrasound is used for approximately 4 to 10 minutes on each area. Ultrasound is commonly used for tendinitis, non-acute joint swelling and muscle spasm
